Cup/bowl cover with octopus print – red/white – 10.5 x 10.5 inch

Description

I printed this lovely mid-weight 100% linen fabric by hand using an octopus stamp which I carved myself. This octopus is a mixture of a late medieval octopus as depicted in a 16th century manuscript as well as a little bit of modern and ancient Minoan inspiration. As weight for the corners I added skulls and bamboo coral – sewn by hand to the corners.

Cup/bowl covers always come in handy when you are outside and want your drink in a cup or your food in a bowl protected from bees, wasps and other insects. I like to use them since I nearly once swallowed a bee when I was not paying attention at an event.
