Bag with octopus & 13th century border print – pink & black / purple (magenta), black & white – 13 x 13

Description

I printed this lovely pink cotton canvas by hand using stamps which I carved myself. This octopus is a mixture of a late medieval octopus as depicted in a 16th century manuscript as well as a little bit of modern and ancient Minoan inspiration. The decorative border is based on a border tile pattern from the 13th century.

All seams of the bag were reinforced. The whole bag was lined with black cotton fabric. All used fabrics were pre-washed. The bag is machine washable if needed.
