Recently I not only completed a knighting scroll, vigil pages for a vigil book and some Award of Arms blank scrolls, I also worked at a small surprise for a good friend of mine. He already saw his new scroll, therefore I can give away the secret and show you my most recent Award of Arms scroll – enjoy! This new Award of Arms scroll will replace my friends old scroll which unfortunately burnt in a house fire. Gwen and Seth, the royal majesties at the time when he was awarded with the Award of Arms, were already so nice to sign it. Now we are just waiting for some royal seals from the current…

Scriptorium – my vigil book calligraphy for Hrothgar’s vigil book
And again I have some lovely calligraphy for you. I proudly present to you a picture of the two pages with the calligraphy and pen work I made for Hrothgar’s vigil book. 😀 You maybe remember my recent posting “Scriptorium – sneak peek at yesterdays calligraphy for a vigil book…“. In this previous posting I was just able to show you some small sneak peek photos of the calligraphy for Hrothgar’s vigil book. And today I am able to proudly present to you the whole calligraphy. 😀

Scriptorium – sneak peek at the knighting scroll for Meridian Grand Tournament
*Wooohooo* Right in time I finally completed my calligraphy commission – a knighting scroll for the SCA event “Meridian Grand Tournament”. 😀 Yes, I know, I mentioned this knighting scroll commission very often during the last days. But I was also thinking a lot about it – especially about the final scroll design for it…

Scriptorium – new AoA blank scrolls for Meridies… :)
You maybe remember my recent posting with the sneak peek at my calligraphy work for the vigil book for a friend. And today I have even more calligraphy for you – I just finished three new AoA blank scrolls for the SCA kingdom of Meridies. 😀 While I was working at my calligraphy for the vigil book, I had so much fun that I decided to practice my Batarde/Bastarda hand a little more. Therefore I started working at an AoA blank scroll. Well, doing calligraphy again after such a long time felt so great that I finally created three new AoA blank scrolls. 🙂

Scriptorium – sneak peek at yesterdays calligraphy for a vigil book…
The motto of yesterdays afternoon was: Calligraphy, calligraphy & some pen work! *wooohooo* 😀 Ok, first things first – a friend of my sweetheart will become a knight of the SCA in about 2 weeks. 🙂 Every SCA award which is given out by the King and Queen during court at an SCA event is already a rather big deal but being elevated to the peerage – to become either a “Laurel”, a “Pelican” or a “Knight” – is one of the most important “awards”/elevations the SCA has to offer. Therefore I was very happy when I was asked to contribute to this very special moment by creating the Knighting scroll.

Scriptorium – Calligraphy – my “Batarde cheating sheets” :D
When it comes to other hobbies besides sewing and embroidery, calligraphy is one of my favorite pastimes. Whenever I feel that I need a break from my various embroidery and sewing projects, I try to work at calligraphy projects to clear my mind. Though this works really great and makes room for new power and inspiration, the major goal of my calligraphy projects is another one.

Interesting Links – inspiration for a 10th century SCA knighting scroll and more…
It appears somehow funny and also really amazing to me how Fortuna works from time to time… *lol* Yesterday I was talking about a very special scroll commission for a SCA peerage scroll. About a 10th century SCA knighting scroll for the upcoming knighting ceremony of a friend – btw. my very first peerage scroll! 🙂 …and today I already run into an inspiration for it, awesome coincidence, isn’t it… *lol* Well, I don’t worry much about the fact that I have never done a peerage scroll till now. I already made so many scrolls that even a peerage scroll is also “just” another scroll for me. Like always I hope that the…

My SCA scrolls and calligraphy for “Not So Grand 8” :D
*Woooohoooo* It is monday! That means that the weekend and also the SCA event “Not So Grand 8” are over and I can show you my scrolls and my calligraphy for the event… 😀 I didn’t get to practice my “Bastarda” – my preferred calligraphy hand – very often during the last months therefore I very appreciated this small “scroll commission” of my lord. This is always a great opportunity for me to get creative and to play around. I had a lot of fun working at this scrolls. 😀 I made two scrolls on “Pergamenata” for the winner of the fighting and the winner of the A&S and 3 “Thank you scrolls” for…
