We are back from another awesome SCA event – the Meridian Grand Tournament! Like in the years before, we had a terrific time. I got to watch my husband fight in several tournaments as well as in the grand final tournament. We got to hang out with dear “old” friends and new friends which we just met. Yeah, my sweetheart and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously. And what makes this already amazing day even better is that Our beloved Majesties decided to bestow a “Grant of Arms” upon me during court.

The last days I not only worked on getting rid of the Spring Crown Tournament aftermath at home. I also worked my way through all the photos I took during the tournament. And here are some of my personal favorites: From afar as well as from up close is this pavilion set up quite impressive – all these banners, the tapestries in the background… *sigh* I really love this set up. But I am not quite sure to whom this pavilion, the tapestries and all the banners belong. However, this doesn’t dampen the great inspiration it provides for the future…

After getting rid of most of the Crown Tournament aftermath at home, I finally found the time to pick my most favorite picture taken at Border Raids in Tennessee two weeks ago: The Baron & Baroness of the Barony of Glaedenfeld are not only very handsome, they are also very nice and gentle. And they are definitely one of my favorite couples within the SCA. Yeah, I can’t help it, I am a helpless romantic… 🙂

And finally a picture of the OvO pouch with the medieval islamic inspired embroidery which I put together for Gloria, my awesome mother-in-law. (OvO -> Order of the velvet Owl, Kingdom of Meridies, SCA) Yeah, this quite special piece of medieval islamic inspired embroidery was the super secret project on which I was working on from the first day of January until our favorite SCA event – Gulf Wars – in March. And at Gulf Wars Gloria finally got introduced into the Order of the velvet Owl. Just right before the knighting ceremony of her son, my dear husband. And not a moment too soon as keeping this project secret was killing me… 😉

And also this year my husband and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously. He participated in a lot of good heavy fighting on this day and he even won one of the tournaments. 🙂

…and finally a picture of the Kings Champion “scroll” which His Majesty Bryce commissioned for coronation: This is the second “viking scroll”, as I call them, which I made so far. …and apropos second “viking scroll” – maybe you remember my very first “viking scroll” for Kail’s knighting. Ok, I admit that Kail’s knighting scroll turned out so much better than I initially thought but I am still quite surprised about the fact that I was commissioned with not only one but two “viking scrolls” till now. *lol* I really can’t repeat it often enough – this is not my field of expertise! *lol*

*Wooohooo* I am back from Gulf Wars! As awesome as Gulf Wars was, it is indeed great to be back home. Several days of camping is always a good reminder how great the luxury of a modern bathroom is. A bathroom which one only has to share with ones sweetheart… And after the cold snap during most of Gulf Wars, I now tremendously enjoy our modern heating system at home. Damn, that where some really cold nights but we made the best out of it. Garb layering was tested until it was deemed sufficient and it seemed like everyone pulled out their best furs in order to keep warm.
