And today we are taking a look at the very last pictures of the embroidery for my husbands 13th century under tunic project. I will show you how I created the shell embroidery for my husbands “Order of Compostella”/”Pilgrims Order Award. After I promised my husband to incorporate all of his SCA awards in the embellishment along the cuffs of his tunic, I waited with the shells until after I finished all the other awards first. Well, at first I wasn’t quite sure how I should realize the pattern with the quite thick “gold thread” which I used for the rest of the embellishment but then I had a striking idea…

White 14th century hood for a friends Pelican elevation – finished! :D
And after all my recent postings about the progress of my friends 14th century hood with pelican & knighthood embroidery, I can finally present to you the finished 14th century hood! The picture at the left was taken shortly after my friend – Sir Thomas Blackmoore (sorry but I don’t remember all the other proper SCA titles he has) – was elevated to the Order of the Pelican.

Scriptorium – new scrolls for the Kingdom of Meridies… :)
After all the embroidery for the 14th century hood for my friends Pelican elevation, I had the feeling like I needed a short break from needle and thread. Therefore I decided to practice my Batarde hand again and to make some new scrolls for my new Kingdom – the Kingdom of Meridies. In order to “warm up” my hand again after such a long time, I made several quite basic scrolls. Taking a look at my very last scroll, I think that the recent practice was quite successful and I am even more excited about the fact that this “Order of the Legio Ursi” scroll – which you can see on the picture…

I am back! …and catching-up with photos from MGT / Meridian Grand Tournament & more…
Yes, I am finally back! Not only from the most recent SCA event – the Meridian Grand Tournament / MGT – but also back to normal life. Ok, I admit it, more or less normal due to mundane standards but at least what I would call normal… 😉 The last weeks and especially the last days before the Meridian Grand Tournament were really intense for me. I was absolutely determined to finish my 14th century hood project with the symbols for the honorable Orders of the Chivalry and the Pelican for my dear friends Pelican elevation and therefore spent nearly every waking hour embroidering.

male 13th century tunic for the “12th century wedding clothing project” .6 – more sleeve embroidery – embroidered shells & shields :D
And after a lot of hard work during the last days, I managed to make even more progress concerning the sleeve embroidery for the 13th century tunic for my sweetheart – today I have embroidered shells and shields for you. 😀 Yes, two shells and two shields already fill the first four roundels. That leaves just four more empty roundels which need to be filled – two on every sleeve. The embroidered shells stand for my husbands SCA “Compostella” award and the embroidered shields for his “Argent Shield“. I am going to add two bears for the “Legion of the Bear“/”Legio Ursi” and two comets for his “Argent Comet” next – this…

This patch was hand embroidered by lady Siobhan Love and forwarded to me from the sunny SCA Shire of Phoenix Glade situated in the mighty SCA Kingdom of Meridies. 🙂

My secret scroll commission for a friend – another Award of Arms scroll
Recently I not only completed a knighting scroll, vigil pages for a vigil book and some Award of Arms blank scrolls, I also worked at a small surprise for a good friend of mine. He already saw his new scroll, therefore I can give away the secret and show you my most recent Award of Arms scroll – enjoy! This new Award of Arms scroll will replace my friends old scroll which unfortunately burnt in a house fire. Gwen and Seth, the royal majesties at the time when he was awarded with the Award of Arms, were already so nice to sign it. Now we are just waiting for some royal seals from the current…

Scriptorium – my vigil book calligraphy for Hrothgar’s vigil book
And again I have some lovely calligraphy for you. I proudly present to you a picture of the two pages with the calligraphy and pen work I made for Hrothgar’s vigil book. 😀 You maybe remember my recent posting “Scriptorium – sneak peek at yesterdays calligraphy for a vigil book…“. In this previous posting I was just able to show you some small sneak peek photos of the calligraphy for Hrothgar’s vigil book. And today I am able to proudly present to you the whole calligraphy. 😀

My photos – MGT – Meridian Grand Tournament
I think I can say that I was really very “productive” during the most recent SCA event Meridian Grand Tournament this last weekend. The battery packs of my dslr camera were fully charged, I was in a really great mood and enjoyed taking photos a lot. Yes, I think that over 1.300 photos – mostly taken at one day – can be called veryyyyy productive… 😉 The fact that my sweetheart was fighting for me in the tournament might have contributed to my great mood. However, it was a great fun for me to take pictures of my lord who was fighting for me and also to “capture” some of the very special moments…
