During the last days I experienced a beautiful outlook on springtime in Kentucky, which keeps me longing for more. Some great warm days filled with lovely sunshine made me nearly forget the great amount of snow that just melted away. Though the temperatures dropped again and the forecast for the next days shows a lot of rain moving towards us, I feel somehow released that the winter is finally over and the spring has already begun. My sweetheart and I used the last days for some garden work – pruned the lilac (German: Flieder) and a tree in the backyard, put up a small bird feeder and started our vegetable and herb garden inside with…

Bad news concerning my husband and Gulf Wars but also some good news…
As we all know, life is not really predictable and can change completely due to what happens in just a short moment. And well, my husbands massive heart attack last week was such a moment. I can’t express how glad I am that my sweetheart survived his massive heart attack with nearly no damage but I think it will take some time until I processed what happened completely. However, this moment has several impacts on our immediate as well as our our future plans. For his health and safety we decided to call off our Gulf Wars plans and especially the planned 12th century wedding. Though we both greatly regret that we aren’t able to attend this years Gulf…

My photos – Midrealm Christmas Tournament :)
I know, I’ve been rather silent recently but unfortunately a mean head cold was holding my brain captive during the last days. But finally I am feeling much better and find myself in a condition that I can think clearly enough to start posting again. 🙂 Recently many interesting things have happened in my life and I am determined to do my best to post about all of them. I visited a nice Christmas Tournament in the mighty SCA Kingdom of Midrealm, started working at my very first male 13th century tunic for my sweetheart as well as a secret nailbinding project (aka christmas present) for a friend…. But let’s start with the pictures from the Christmas Tournament…

Posting #200 since I restarted my blog… Some thoughts about the past, the presence and future…
When I recently took a look at the stats of my blog, I nearly couldn’t believe it. I was just some postings away from another lovely round number of postings. And with today’s posting I finally get to complete my round number. Can you believe it? With this posting I posted 200 postings since I “restarted” my blog at Valentine’s day this year. Well, blogging for already more than 10 years and after far more than 200 postings, it shouldn’t have been difficult for me to write another one. But somehow this round number caused me to take a short break and to examine the past, the presence and the future.

Sneak peek at upcoming crafting projects – 14th century hood with daggings, nailbinded cap & 16th century belt pouch
I just got together some of the materials for my next crafting projects and thought you would enjoy a sneak peek at them: Yes, besides the 12th century clothing project for my dear sweetheart, for our 12th century wedding at the great Gulf Wars event next year in Mississippi, I am also having joy with planning some more or less “small” side projects.

Racaire’s move to the USA – my sewing and crafting room progress .2 :D
Yesterday I took some time to set up my sewing and crafting space in my very first sewing and crafting room. It still lacks some decoration but I think it is a really good start. 😀

My photos – MGT – Meridian Grand Tournament
I think I can say that I was really very “productive” during the most recent SCA event Meridian Grand Tournament this last weekend. The battery packs of my dslr camera were fully charged, I was in a really great mood and enjoyed taking photos a lot. Yes, I think that over 1.300 photos – mostly taken at one day – can be called veryyyyy productive… 😉 The fact that my sweetheart was fighting for me in the tournament might have contributed to my great mood. However, it was a great fun for me to take pictures of my lord who was fighting for me and also to “capture” some of the very special moments…

The knighting at the Meridian Grand Tournament – my very first video :D
I enjoyed the recent weekend at the SCA event Meridian Grand Tournament tremendously but it feels great to be back home again. 😀 It took some time – several loads of laundry as well as many things which had to be put back to their “between-event-places” – but finally I feel like I am back home again. I brought many photos with me from the Meridian Grand Tournament. However, I decided to start my very first posting after this beautiful event with a small surprise and novelty for you – with something I haven’t done before. Yes, I just uploaded my very first short video on youtube! 🙂

And this weekend… heading to MGT – Meridian Grand Tournament :)
And this weekend I am heading to another awesome SCA event held inside the borders of the mighty and beautiful Kingdom of Meridies – to the “Meridian Grand Tournament”. 🙂 Everything is packed – the tent, the bed, my painted backgammon board, the scrolls I recently completed and even another new AoA scroll which I completed yesterday, as well as a lot of more or less useful stuff… *lol* I even packed some books I already wanted to read for a rather long time, which contain some valuable informations for my upcoming wedding clothing project. Well, just in case I find some time for it… 😉 However, I am very looking forward to a great…
