After my beloved MacBook died last week and I just got my new laptop, I promised myself to go through, re-sort and clean up all of my files when I migrate them to my new computer… Well, let me put it this way – I am kinda regretting this idea but on the other side I have to admit to myself that this work is really necessary to be able to actually find something in my files – or at least to find it easier and faster…

Back from Gulf Wars XXV…
Home, sweet home! As much as I enjoyed Gulf Wars XXV, I have to say that it is really nice to be home again. 😀 Due to a very strong storm – it seems like even a microburst might had been involved which touched down very close to the site – we decided to leave the site two days early on friday. Fortunately no one on site was really injured though some people had to face the loss of their tent or equipment. My love and heart goes out to them. I am very glad to say that my husband and I were very lucky – our tent did very well…

Snow & electronic devices… *sigh*
Well, I am normally not a big fan of new years resolutions but I decided to post more often and also more about my mundane life in the future. And instead of going for short wall posts on my facebook page I thought it might actually be helpful to express my thoughts here in a far more complex way… I hope it might make it easier for me to write and post in English as I am still not completely comfortable with it, though my husband ensures me that my English is getting better and has actually already improved a lot. 🙂 After the last weeks of extraordinary warm and pleasing temperatures, the…

…a short update – preparing for Gulf Wars and a lot of sewing… :)
Well, like always I am very busy working at projects but I thought it would be good to post a short update here instead of just leaving a brief comment on my facebook page. I am sewing like crazy at the moment, as one of my favorite SCA events – Gulf Wars – is coming up soon, to make sure that I have enough to wear for the whole event. And I am very glad to say that I am one step closer to this goal as I already managed to finish one simple new white underdress with trapunto cuffs and neckline. Not only that, I took several pictures of how I…

SCA Heavy Fighting – starting a more serious approach to get me back in armor & fighting again…
Well, for all of those of you who wonder about this posting – yes, I also engage in SCA heavy fighting. Or, well, to be more exact: I occasionally did some SCA heavy fighting in the past and after a quite long break I would like to start with it again. 🙂 I actually started with SCA heavy fighting already several years ago in Vienna. One beautiful sunny afternoon, after enjoying several hours of inline skating along the Danube bank, I decided that it would be nice to stop by at the regional fighter practice on my way home. As the fighting members and the people interested into Arts & Science mostly went different ways in their…

I am back! …and catching-up with photos from MGT / Meridian Grand Tournament & more…
Yes, I am finally back! Not only from the most recent SCA event – the Meridian Grand Tournament / MGT – but also back to normal life. Ok, I admit it, more or less normal due to mundane standards but at least what I would call normal… 😉 The last weeks and especially the last days before the Meridian Grand Tournament were really intense for me. I was absolutely determined to finish my 14th century hood project with the symbols for the honorable Orders of the Chivalry and the Pelican for my dear friends Pelican elevation and therefore spent nearly every waking hour embroidering.

My PCS scroll from Drachenwald arrived! :D
Today a great surprise arrived me via mail – my PCS scroll from Drachenwald is here! And though a good part of the envelope didn’t survive the long way from Europe to its final destination here in Kentucky/USA, the scroll was fortunately packed very well. Therefore I am very happy to say that my beautiful PCS scroll reached me unharmed and unbend. At this point I would like to express my sincere gratitude to King Makarius and his lovely Queen Izabella – Their Royal Majesties of the Kingdom of Drachenwald – for bestowing this “Popular Company of Sojourners” award upon me. This beautiful farewell means a lot to me and I will do my best to do justice…

A new cute and fluffy little helper in my life – my cat Alice <3
Well, I already posted some photos of my cat Alice – the most recent addition to our family – on facebook. But now I’d like to make it a little bit more official by posting it on my blog: Wooooohooooo! My husband surprised me with a cute kitten! *omg* Alice is so adorable, isn’t she… *sigh* I just can’t get enough of snuggling her… 😀
