…and after all the small patches for my new needle books showing flowers done in Klosterstich technique, I again have a 14th century inspired fleur-de-lis Klosterstich embroidery for you. With all this small embroidered patches lying before me, I really think that I should go on and transform them into some nice needle books now. They will be a beautiful addition for my “Travel & Largesse Fund”. My pile of U.F.O.s* is already big enough and doesn’t need any further addition. The Klosterstich embroidery technique is one of my favorite embroidery techniques. As some of you might remember, I always tremendously enjoy working at projects which involve this technique. Therefore it’s no wonder that I enjoyed working at my recent needle books with Klosterstich embroidery so much that I decided to embroider more small patches  and to sew more needle books. Furthermore I also have the feeling that my “Travel & Largesse Fund” is still much too empty for my personal taste. My recent 4day trip to Barcelona as well as the postings about my favorite Barcelona photos were a nice possibility to take a short break from my ongoing embroidery projects. This is one of my favorite ways to restore my energy and inspiration for new projects and postings. Needle books with 14th century inspired Fleur-de-Lis embroidery worked in Klosterstich – sneak peek .1
About 2 years ago, during my very first stay in the states, I gave away some hand embroidered needle books as gifts to interesting people which I met on my journey. I was told that this needle books were highly appreciated and became treasured and loved items of their owners. Well, what shall I say, this kind of message is always a great balm for the soul of an artisan. đ

12th century embroidery â Saint Michael and the Dragon â embroidery finished! :)
Today I have great news for you – my “12th century embroidery â Saint Michael and the Dragon” is finished! This embroidery took an endless amount of working hours and embroidery stitches but I didn’t give up! đ As you might have noticed, I already enjoyed the “Endspurt” phase of this embroidery tremendously. It really helped me to keep on working at all this endless lines of tiny stitches.
