You maybe remember my recent posting about my “needle books with 14th century inspired Fleur-de-Lis embroidery worked in Klosterstich“. As some of you might also remember, I promised to put together a 14th century Fleur-de-Lis embroidery pattern handout for the Fleur-de-Lis pattern I used for this needle books and here it is now… đ

With all this small embroidered patches lying before me, I really think that I should go on and transform them into some nice needle books now. They will be a beautiful addition for my “Travel & Largesse Fund”. My pile of U.F.O.s* is already big enough and doesn’t need any further addition. Therefore – where are my leftover wool fabrics, threads and needles?! *lol* đ But first things first – here a picture of my most recent fleur-de-lis in Klosterstich embroidery for you and some additional progress pictures – enjoy! đ

The Klosterstich embroidery technique is one of my favorite embroidery techniques. As some of you might remember, I always tremendously enjoy working at projects which involve this technique. Therefore it’s no wonder that I enjoyed working at my recent needle books with Klosterstich embroidery so much that I decided to embroider more small patches  and to sew more needle books. Furthermore I also have the feeling that my “Travel & Largesse Fund” is still much too empty for my personal taste. I definitely need to make more small gifts. đ This is why I again started working at small patches with Klosterstich embroidery and I already have one more Klosterstich embroidery for needle books…

Needle books with 14th century inspired Fleur-de-Lis embroidery worked in Klosterstich
My recent 4day trip to Barcelona as well as the postings about my favorite Barcelona photos were a nice possibility to take a short break from my ongoing embroidery projects. This is one of my favorite ways to restore my energy and inspiration for new projects and postings. But now it is definitely time to get back to my embroidery projects and my embroidery related postings with renewed power. And I am very glad to say that I just finished two hand sewn needle books with 14th century inspired Fleur-de-Lis Klosterstich embroidery. đ You maybe remember my recent posting with the sneak peek at the 14th century inspired Fleur-de-Lis embroidery in Klosterstich. Needle books with 14th century inspired Fleur-de-Lis embroidery worked in Klosterstich – sneak peek .1
About 2 years ago, during my very first stay in the states, I gave away some hand embroidered needle books as gifts to interesting people which I met on my journey. I was told that this needle books were highly appreciated and became treasured and loved items of their owners. Well, what shall I say, this kind of message is always a great balm for the soul of an artisan. đ

Medieval Embroidery – German Brick Stitch – helpful sources & embroidery for needle-roll #1
As you already might have noticed, I really love medieval embroidery. …and I decided that after all this postings it is finally time for some embroidery done by me. German Brick Stitch seemed like a good technique to start with. Especially because this stitch looks very pretty on needle-rolls & pouches. As I already wrote in my posting “Embroidered patches for Racaires 12th century wedding dress project” I want to put together a small gift package. (look out for the PPS at the bottom of the posting about my wedding dress project) For this “thank you gift package” I will embroider at least one gift. I consider needle-rolls and needle-books to…

Racaire’s Embroidery & Needlework is back – a new year & fresh beginning…
Happy Valentine day to you! đ I thought this special day would be perfect for the fresh re-beginning of “Racaire’s Embroidery & Needlework”. Yes, like some of you might have already noticed, my blog – Racaire’s Embroidery & Needlework – was down for some time. After nearly 9 years of blogging with ca. 2.300 postings, it was time for a fresh beginning. A new beginning with a “virgin” blog and the possibility to protect my photos/ work/ research from further misuse. Well, already about 4-5 years ago I started to run into my work/photos at other blogs and websites without references and/or links back to me at a rather regular…
