I am tremendously excited! I was just browsing the internet and looking at pictures of 12th century artwork as I run into a lovely detail photo of a 12th century female statue. And as I followed the picture to its source, I discovered a complete photo album… 😀 Well, after looking at 12th century artwork for about 10 years now, it doesn’t happen very often that I run into really good detail photos of extant 12th century artwork which I haven’t seen yet. But I still look out for them as the excitement of finding new detail photos or a special unique piece still gives me a good thrill… *giggle*

…working at my 5th tablet woven band :)
As you can see at the picture on the right, I started working at another tablet woven band. My 5th tablet woven band, to be exact. 😉 Tablet weaving is a very welcome break for me as it keeps my hands busy and allows me to recharge my batteries after the most recent scroll (King’s champion, Rose Tourney & my husbands knighting scroll & vigil book page) and embroidery projects. Though I am still fairly new to this craft, I feel great when I rotate the cards and witness their magic as the pattern develops with every turn I make. I really love how this technique gives my mind the opportunity to simply relax…

Scriptorium – my 12th century inspired knighting scroll & vigil book page for my husband :)
And finally – last but not least – the 12th century inspired knighting scroll and vigil book page which I made for my husband’s knighting at Gulf Wars! Well, as you might already know, I consider the 12th century the one “true century”. However, I have to admit that I awfully neglected my beloved century when it comes to calligraphy and scrolls. Therefore I made the creation of his 12th century knighting scroll my very personal mission. And yes, I even learned two new styles for it. 😀

Scriptorium – my Kings Champion scroll for coronation :)
…and finally a picture of the Kings Champion “scroll” which His Majesty Bryce commissioned for coronation: This is the second “viking scroll”, as I call them, which I made so far. …and apropos second “viking scroll” – maybe you remember my very first “viking scroll” for Kail’s knighting. Ok, I admit that Kail’s knighting scroll turned out so much better than I initially thought but I am still quite surprised about the fact that I was commissioned with not only one but two “viking scrolls” till now. *lol* I really can’t repeat it often enough – this is not my field of expertise! *lol*

Hearty congratulation to Queen Kateryn & Louis, her victorious fighter! Louis, thank you very much, it was truly a pleasure to watch you fight! 😀

Back from Gulf Wars!!!! :D
*Wooohooo* I am back from Gulf Wars! As awesome as Gulf Wars was, it is indeed great to be back home. Several days of camping is always a good reminder how great the luxury of a modern bathroom is. A bathroom which one only has to share with ones sweetheart… And after the cold snap during most of Gulf Wars, I now tremendously enjoy our modern heating system at home. Damn, that where some really cold nights but we made the best out of it. Garb layering was tested until it was deemed sufficient and it seemed like everyone pulled out their best furs in order to keep warm. And then there were all this wonderful camp fires around which we gathered. Many…

Scriptorium – scroll for the “Rose Tournament” at Gulf Wars finished! :D
Wooohooo! The scroll for the “Rose Tournament” is finished! 😀 After all the recent postings about my progress concerning this project, I proudly present to you a picture of my finished scroll for the winner of the “Rose Tournament”. A tourney which will take place at the upcoming Gulf Wars event! 😀 Looking back it seems like I just started working on this scroll. However, I know just too well that I worked for about 2 weeks on it. It is really amazing how fast time can go by when you are concentrating on a project. Like the hours just flew by as i was adding paint and ink to the pergamenata. But all that really counts at…
