Woohoo! Just a few days are left till christmas! 😀
But before I show you what I made for my husband, I’d like to share with you some cute little wire projects at which I was working during the last days. Yeah, I was playing around with wire again and made some new trees of life…
But don’t worry, I didn’t give up embroidery. The skin on my hands just got a little bit rough due to cold weather and work which prohibits me from working with my fine silk thread. However, I got some good, nurturing hand cream and hope that the skin of my hands will be nice and smooth again in no time. 🙂
And as hands covered with hand cream are also not very good when it comes to calligraphy projects, I decided to get some new wire and stones and to make some new trees of life:
And here some close up pictures of my new trees of life for you – enjoy! 😀
At the picture above you can see the first three trees of life which I made to get back into working with wire again. Then suddenly a thought stroke me – what if I braid it?
And I have to say that I really liked the result. Which just made me even more curious about wire projects. Therefore I started to browse the internet to see what I could find concerning “wire wrapping” and finally ended up browsing through many pictures of wire projects on pinterest. You can find some pictures and instructions which I found inspiring or interesting in my “Jewelry – Wire” folder on pinterest. 🙂
Even my husband got into the crafting mood and attempted some projects of his own:
Though his attempt to make the “eye of Sauron” didn’t quite work out as he envisioned it (top right pendant), I am still very proud of him and his work. He gave it a try and seemed to enjoy working with the wire. 🙂
Yes, I know, this projects are not really medieval or medieval”ish”. But these small wire projects are a lot of fun to make and we have to fill up on largesse and small gifts for the next year. 😀
