*woohoooo* I am so excited!
I just managed to finish the major part of the planned “renovation work” at my new and also very first sewing and crafting room. 😀
I am really very excited and happy about my renovation progress. The walls are painted white now and I just finished putting in the last part of the new flooring. I even managed to paint the baseboard and the visible parts of the door frame. 🙂
The progress is slow but ongoing and I can’t wait to move the furniture into its (more or less) final position. I decided to put off the “renovation” of the furniture and any extra decoration until I completely moved in with all my fabric, my new sewing machine and all my other crafting & embroidery tools and materials.
I think everyone of you knows the feeling of the relief when a move or home renovation finally seems to come to an end. It feels like you actually really settle in and make the new home “your” home. I can’t tell how much I miss the ease of a sorted working place where I can find and/or get to my working tools and materials more easily. But at least it feels like I am much closer to this point… 😀
…and now some more pictures of my recent progress concerning my new sewing and crafting room – enjoy! 😀
At the picture above you can see the very last progress I made concerning my new sewing and crafting room. I just put in the last part of the new flooring and painted the baseboards and the front of the door frame in a nice grey color. The grey is a really nice contrast to the otherwise rather bright room and its white walls.
And here a picture of the left side of the room with the small closet inside. I also painted the walls of the closet in a nice bright white and started working at the doorframe…
…and well, I have to admit that I messed up the upper part of the door frame. *lol*
After overcoming the very first wave of frustration I took it as a great chance to become creative and to already add the very first decorative element to my sewing and crafting room:
I hope you like this small and playful element over the door. It is inspired by some penwork which I already added to some of my scrolls. And this penwork decoration is actually based on medieval decoration elements I found in medieval manuscripts and embroidery – and well, a little bit of a modern touch too. 🙂
…and here one of the reasons why I love my new sewing and crafting room so much:
Though the look is out to the street, the street we live on is rather quite and normally just little cars pass by. And the very best is all the beautiful green which I can see from my window. After living nearly my whole life in a huge town I enjoy this view into the green tremendously.
…and btw., another thing that makes me so excited concerning this room is that during the late afternoon the sun is kissing my window and illuminates the room beautifully. *sigh*
Yes, sometimes even the smallest details can be the most beautiful ones. I really can’t wait to shift my furniture and to finally “move into” my new sewing and crafting room. 😀
