I made again good progress concerning my “12th century embroidery – Saint Michael and the Dragon” project.
Today I can show you the work result of the last two evenings. I finished Saint Michaels first layer at the bottom and already embroidered the outlines for his feet. 🙂
Oh my, he has sooooo cute little feet… *lol*
I took two close up pictures of my new Split Stitch progress for you. I thought you might enjoy a detailed “before” and “after” picture concerning the filling of this section:
I really like the new progress of Saint Michael but I have to admit that there is one small detail that – a tiny little bit -detracts my joy about it.
The black outlines of Saint Michael let him dominate the whole embroidery and my cute little dragon vanishes a little bit in the background.
I am very glad that the effect is much more evident on the photos than it is in real. In real the green and blue appear much brighter and really “pop” – as I like to call it.
Well, what do I learn from it? More black for the dragon outlines next time! *giggle* 😉
…hmmmm – what next? Maybe the feet or the arm on the left or more border at the bottom right? I am not sure yet but I will surely have new progress pictures for you soon. 🙂
